House Rules

BOOKING POLICIES
*Once final payment of your booking has been made, confirmation and booking will be sent to your email address provided at the time of booking.

*We will issue you with a confirmation number when booking has been made. The confirmation number is proof that we have accepted your booking. No booking shall be binding on De Swift Hotel until we issue you with a confirmation number.

*You cannot transfer, resell (in whole or in part) or advertise your booking or we will reserve the right to terminate it without refund.
*If you are unable to provide identification, your booking shall be cancelled and you will be liable to pay De Swift Hotel an amount equal to the full booking amount plus any other costs incurred by De Swift Hotel in connection with the booking. Accordingly, any pre-payment you have made in relation to the booking will be forfeited to De Swift Hotel under this term.

*Rates confirmed are for the number of occupants listed in your e-mail confirmation, per room, per night and do not include additional charges for tourism tax, heritage tax, extra mattress or extra people and will apply only to rooms booked as part of this reservation.

*We do not permit people under the age of 18 to stay in our hotels, alone.

CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT POLICIES
*Guest is required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check in.
*Standard Check in at 15.00hrs *Check out at 12.00noon.
* Room rates are in Ringgit Malaysia.
*The hotel guest cannot hand over a room to third persons, even if the period for which the guest paid has not yet expired. Upon check in, the hotel will collect a deposit of MYR 50.00 per room. This deposit is fully refundable upon check out, subject to consumption check and damage inspection. Deposit must be paid in cash.

HEALTH AND WELL-BEING POLICIES, EXCESSIVE NOISE AND PARTIES
No gatherings and parties of any nature will be allowed.
To ensure all guests enjoy the comfort and safety of the facilities we offer, the hotel upholds a strict zero-tolerance policy towards commotion, excessive noise and parties. Any person found to be on our premises creating excessive noise, having a party, exceeding the numbers of permitted guests or otherwise causing a disturbance will be requested to leave the hotel without a refund.

INAPPRORIATE BEHAVIOR
Should any action by a guest, may it be towards our staff or otherwise, be deemed inappropriate by the Hotel, or if any inappropriate behaviour is brought to attention, the Hotel reserves the right, after the allegations have been investigated, to take action against the guest which may result in, but not limited to, being asked to leave without a refund for any services incurred.




SMOKING
*Please do not smoke in bed, rooms or in any place where smoking presents a fire hazard.
*Smoking is not permitted, except in the designated smoking areas. Please refrain from any other acts that could cause a fire in your room or anywhere in the hotel. Smoking in a non-smoking guest room will result in charges to the occupying guest for cleaning or replacement of bedding, curtains, and so on, as well as the cost of repairing any damage.
*Smoking is not permitted in De Swift Hotel, other than in designated smoking areas.
***The Hotel reserves the right to add to, alter or amend any of the above terms, conditions and rules as and when it deems necessary. ***

VISITORS
In the interest of your well-being and security, all visitors are required to register at the front desk.

TOURIST TAX
From September 1st, 2017, as per government of Malaysia’s requirements, *A tourist tax of MYR 10 per room per night is applied to all foreign guests. This tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid upon check in. Guests with valid Malaysian identity card or valid permanent residents MY PR card are exempted.

HERITAGE TAX
Historic cities in the Straits of Malacca: Malacca is approved by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee to be included in the World Heritage List as cultural heritage. Upon check-in heritage tax of RM2 per room per night will be charged. This tax is payable upon arrival at the hotel and is not included in the room rate.

AGE REQUIREMENT
Guests must be 18 years or older with photo identification to check-in. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The hotel reserves the right to check photo identification.

Cancellation

CANCELLATIONS, AMENDMENTS, REFUNDS AND NO SHOWS
Cancellations or amendments to your booking must be completed 3 days before the day of your original check-in date. You cannot cancel a booking after this time. Cancellation up to 72 Hours before Check in: Full value of the booking. In the event of late cancellation, the hotel reserves the right to charge 100% fee for the entire stay via credit card, which is provided when reservation is made.
For online bookings made through the hotel website, unless stated in individual rate plan terms and conditions, a deposit equivalent to the first night room charge shall be deducted from the credit card upon completion of booking. No refund shall be made if your reservation is cancelled or modified within 72 hours prior to check-in date.
If you do not arrive at the hotel on the scheduled date of arrival, you will be deemed to be a ‘no show’ and your booking will be cancelled and in accordance with our cancellation policy no refunds will be made to the customer and all the payment will be charged. If you intend to arrive after 1am on the scheduled date of arrival you must inform the hotel, otherwise our no-show policy will apply.

No Show, without cancellation: Full value of the booking, No Show-100% of the booking will be charged.

THIRD –PARTY BOOKING SOURCES
In the case of cancellation or modifications to reservations made through sources other than directly with the hotel or the hotel website, the hotel recommends that guests first contact their source of booking for assistance before approaching hotel staff.

Children

Free for children under 12 years of age using existing beds.

Pets

Pets are not allowed in the hotel premises.
